Mustafizur Rahman exit from Kolkata Knight Riders definitely caught people off guard . On paper, he is the kind of bowler teams love in India, Smart with his cutters, tricky with his pace, and reliable at the death. So when KKR let him go, it’s set of plenty of chatter. Then a former Bangladesh played chimed in seeing politics got mentioned during talks about Mustafizur future with the team that just fuelled the debate.

Honestly, Mustafizur IPL has always felt unpredictable. Sure , when he is around and fit he delivers tight over in the middle, Clever stuff at the end, but he is hardly ever there for a full season. The Bangladesh boat keeps a close eye on his workload. And international commitments always seem to pop up, messing with his availability. For IPL teams looking to build around players who show up every game. That’s a headache.

This Ex Bangladesh cricketer pointed out that KKR call was not just about cricket. He said political stuff came up, a loaded phrase that got people talking. He did not call it the main reason but flagged it as one of those. Background issues that can mess with travel permissions and release dates when you are dealing with foreign players.

Behind closed doors, these franchise decision are always more complicated than they look. Teams way everything form common injuries, whether a player can stay the whole season, even paperwork hassles. If you are an overseas player and your board is a strict about workload, your chances drop no matter how good you are. KKR, like most teams, prefers bowler who can stick around for the full ride. That way they can build rhythm and plan ahead without surprises.

The political angle, people have read it all sort of ways something it just means visa problems, last minute call-backs or getting stuck in red tape. Not actual geopolitics. Others see it as quote for how unpredictable the international cricket calendar can get. Either way, it’s a reminder the IPL team are not just picking players, they are juggling a mess of real world problems.

Looking at the numbers, Mustafizur starts are solid. He keeps things tight when used right. But T20 is changing fast. Teams want bowlers with raw pace or guys who bring something totally different like extra bounds or risks spin. Plus they want someone they can use at the start and end. Of games without having to shuffle things around if a player suddenly leads for national duty. For KKR, it’s about balance and making sure no spot is left exposed.

Timing matters to with big auctions and retention list coming up, franchises are getting cold blooded. If there’s even a chance a player might miss a chunk of the season, Or show up

late teams move on, even if the talent there. That’s probably what happened here. Its less about Mustafizur. Skill more about the team resetting for what’s next.

Still, Mustafizur is not done, he played all over nose how to adapt and his slower ball with always be dangerous in T20. If he is available and a team needs his kind of bowling, another IPL stint is definitely possible.

At the end of the day, KKR decision came down to a mix of things, Performance, planning and yes, the tricky business of ability. The political angle add some colour but it’s not the full story, its just another part of the chaos that comes with running a franchise in modern cricket. For fans, there is no scandal here, just a tough call. In our sport, that’s never as simple as it looks.
