The Gujarat Giants moment beat the Delhi Capitals Women by just 4 runs in a really exciting WPL match. It was close, right down to the last ball. Sophie Devine was Awesome. Staying calm and making big plays when it mattered.
The Giants batted first and got to 151 for 7 At first Delhi bowling was good and kept the score down. But then the middle of the Giants batting lineup helped steady things.
Sophie Devine was key. She played smart, mixing some hitting with just keeping the score moving. She helped the Giants get to a score they could defend.
Delhi came out strong, scoring well early on, but the giant bowlers did not panic. They got tougher as the innings went on.
The game changed when the Giant got some wickets and fielded really well. Sophie Devine got a big wicket and got her team believing they could win.
In the last 2 overs, Delhi needed 18 runs. It was super tense. Delhi got a few boundaries but the Giants bowled well changing their speed and aiming for the wickets.
In the final over Delhi needed 10 runs, they even hit a boundary, making it scary for the Giants. But the Giants state cool, bowling well, setting the field right and talking to each other Delhi ended up just short.
The Giants want because they were tough and did not crack under pressure. Sophie Devine was amazing and deserved all the praise.
Delhi will be disappointed. They played well but missed some chances at the end. Still, they look like they will be a strong team in the tournament.
