Injuries cause roaster change
Early this month, Rickelton and Stubs were left off the original Squad list, which led to a lot of debate. But things change when Tony de Zorzi and Donovan Ferreira got hurt. De Zorzi has a hamstring tear and Ferreira has a broken collarbone from the SA20 tournament. Their injuries made room for Rickelton and Stubbs.
Now confirmed as replacement, Ryan reckon and Tristan Stubbs gives South Africa more batting power for the tournament.

Tristan Stubbs
Tristan Stubbs bring power hitting and good fielding to the team. Stubbs is a modern T20 player who can hit the ball hard and play in different batting positions. Even though he was surprisingly left out at first, his selection now gives out Africa options in the middle order.

This decision led to talks about player form, team balance and strategy, with some saying South Africa could have Used more T20 players in the top form.
At the time, Selector said they choose players based on experience and how they could adapt to the conditions in India and Sri Lanka. Despite their good domestic records, Rickelton and Stubbs were not in the first 15.
