Tragedy Strikes During RCB’s IPL 2025 Victory Celebration: Stampede Claims 10 Lives at Chinnaswamy Stadium

In a heart-wrenching incident, 10 people are feared dead and 24 others injured, including a six-year-old girl, as chaos erupted outside M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru during celebrations for Royal Challengers Bangalore's historic IPL 2025 title victory.

The stampede occurred near the stadium gates, where thousands of passionate RCB fans had gathered in anticipation of a grand felicitation ceremony for the team’s maiden IPL trophy win. According to reports from The Hindu, the incident unfolded as the crowd eagerly awaited the arrival of the victorious RCB squad.

Sources confirmed to The Hindu that the majority of the deceased were rushed to Bowring Hospital in Shivajinagar, while three others were shifted to Vaidehi Hospital (formerly Mallya Hospital) for treatment.

Since early evening, roads surrounding Chinnaswamy Stadium had been jam-packed with supporters, making it nearly impossible for traffic to flow freely in Bengaluru’s central business district. Despite efforts from traffic police, the situation quickly escalated as the sheer volume of people overwhelmed the area, leading to the tragic stampede.
