Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) pulled off a historic chase in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 by chasing down a massive target of 228 runs against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on May 27. Led by strong performances from Jitesh Sharma and Mayank Agarwal, RCB reached 230/4 in just 18.4 overs — their highest successful run chase ever in the IPL.
This incredible effort is now the third-highest run chase in IPL history, with only Punjab Kings' 262-run chase in 2024 and another match ranked above it.

RCB’s recent win over LSG is now part of IPL history as one of the top 3 highest run chases ever. The current record for the highest successful chase belongs to Punjab Kings, who chased down a target of 262 runs against Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2024.

After their thrilling chase, RCB finished the league stage in second place with 19 points and a Net Run Rate of +0.301. They will now play Qualifier 1 against Punjab Kings on May 29.
A win will take RCB straight to the IPL 2025 Final on June 3. If they lose, they’ll still have a chance to reach the final through Qualifier 2, where they’ll face the winner of the Eliminator match.
