The ICC Under 19 Men’s Cricket World Cup 2026 Super 6 Teach saw exciting action on January 26th, 2026. England and Sri Lanka board grabbed important wins improving their chances of getting into the semi finals of the competition in Zimbabwe and Namibia.
England continues strong run with big win.
England begin their Super 6 matches with a confident showing, keeping up the good form with the 7 wicket victory over Bangladesh at Queens Sports Park, bulawayo.
After winning the toss, Bangladesh chose to bat first but were bowled out for just 136 runs in 38. One over thanks to share Bowling From England. Sebastian Morgan was the top bowler with 3/28, while Ralphie Albert and many Lumsden added key wickets. The Tight bowling and fielding meant , Bangladesh had trouble building partnership, leaving England with a small target.
England chase was quick and strong, Thomas Rew held the innings together with a well played 59 not out, guiding the team to 137/3 in just 24. 1 overs winning by 7 wickets Rew calm play with good shots and boundaries was key to the cheese while others held keep the runs coming.
This Super 6 when was another good one for England, stretching then beat and run in the tournament and putting them in a good spot for a semi final place. With 4 wins from 4 matches England have built up momentum and confidence which will be important as they go further in the competition.
England all around showing showed they strong bowling and batting which are important for doing well in knockout cricket.
Sri Lanka Edges out Afghanistan in close Super 6 game.
In the Super 6 Group 1 name at Namibia cricket Ground Windhoek , Sri Lanka took a close 4 wicket victory over Afghanistan, keeping the semi final hope Alive.
Afghanistan’s batter got to a total of 193 runs in 49. 5 overs, mainly from a solid innings of 61 by Osama Sadat and strong 43 run effort by Azizullah Miakhil . But the Sri Lankan bowlers kept the pressure on with Kugathas Mathulan and Viran Chamuditha each grabbing 2 wickets, slowing Afghanistan down at the important times.
When chasing 194, Sri Lanka met some resistance from the Afghan bowlers early on. The loss of Dimantha Mahavithana’s wicket made the chase shaky times but careful batting from the middle order made sure Sri Lanka stayed ahead of the run rate. Senuja
Wekunagoda’s Tough 43 was a key part of the chase held by important runs from Dhulnith Sigera and Kavija Gamage . Chamika heenatigala stayed unbeaten on 22, guiding the team to the win in the 46th. 5th over with 4 wickets left.
This match showed Sri Lanka’s toughness and ability to perform when it matters. Their victory not only stop Afghanistan and Unbeaten run in the tournament, but boost Sri Lanka’s place in Group 1 , putting them in the running for the semi finals spot.
