Man, what a crazy day of Test cricket, guys. Like, the score is 325/9 England, right? But that score, man, that is NOT the whole story at all. Joe Root just went and done the thing we been waiting on forever, he Hammered his first-ever Ashes century in Australia. But Mitchell Starc, he's a weapon, absolute madman out there, and he pretty much ruin the whole damn party by taking six massive wickets. It was just pure chaos out there.
The Relief is REAL, Guys
You alll know why this is even a big deal. Everyone always talks about Root being a legend everywhere except Australia. He had this big massive headache about this hundred for years. It been 15 Test since 2013! When he got his hundred, he wasn't just scoring runs; he was kicking giant monkey off his back. He stood tall and fought hard, especially after scoring those two rubbish scores (0 and 8) at the first Test. That was pure guts and grit!
The Funniest Part Of The Whole Day
Hold on though, more crazy stuff happened! Y'all remember that really funny promise Hayden made a few month back? He actually dared himself to walk around the MCG nude if Root didn't score a hundred this summer. Seriously! Like, the stress on Root, man, it was crazy, and it got worse when Hayden’s own daughter, Grace, tweeted him, saying: “Please Rooty, make a hundred.” Can you imagine that stress?
When Root hit that boundary for his hundred, I swear you could hear Hayden sighing with relief all the way from his house! He came right back and said the best thing: “Congratulations, mate. No one had more skin in the game than me, literally. I was backing you for a hundred in a good way.” Root didn't only save the game though, he also save Hayden's dignity, for real!
Starc’s Fire and the Nail-Biter
Cooky, the old captain, he just had to get a real good dig in at the Aussies, saying, “Even Australians have to admit he is a great now.” Love that rivalry!
But let’s be real—Starc, man, he was straight up killer with the ball, just ripped through them last wickets. I mean, six wickets is massive! England needed more, but Starc stopped them dead. Tomorrow morning that is gonna be a straight-up nail-biter, for sure.
