If you thought Pakistan cricket was down and out after that humiliating 1st ODI disaster, think again! In a classic "cornered tiger" response, Shaheen Afridi’s men came out all guns blazing at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka to register a mammoth 128-run victory (DLS method) over Bangladesh.

The series is now perfectly poised at 1-1, and the drama couldn't be any better. Here is how the Men in Green orchestrated one of the most explosive comebacks of the 2026 tour.

The Maaz Sadaqat Masterclass

Let’s take a moment to talk about the man of the hour: Maaz Sadaqat. Playing only his second ODI, the 20-year-old all-rounder looked like a seasoned veteran on an absolute mission.

After Bangladesh won the toss and elected to field, Maaz walked out to open and completely tore the bowling attack apart. He smashed a blistering 75 off just 46 balls—launching 5 massive sixes into the stands! Along with Sahibzada Farhan (31), he laid down a rock-solid 103-run opening stand that instantly shifted the pressure onto the hosts.

But Maaz wasn't done yet. Later in the game, he picked up the ball and grabbed 3 crucial wickets for just 23 runs with his left-arm spin. A maiden fifty and a three-wicket haul? Talk about announcing your arrival on the international stage!

The Middle-Order Resurgence

While Pakistan did face a minor top-order hiccup at 122/3, the middle order stabilized the ship beautifully.

  • Salman Ali Agha played a phenomenal, aggressive knock, scoring a rapid 64 off 50 deliveries.
  • Mohammad Rizwan anchored the other end with a solid 44.

Together, they stitched a vital 109-run partnership. Even though the lower order ultimately collapsed under pressure—losing their last 7 wickets for just 43 runs—Pakistan managed to post a highly competitive 274 all out.

Rain, Hail, and a Tiger Collapse

Bangladesh's chase was nothing short of a nightmare. They were already struggling at 27/3 in 6.3 overs when Mother Nature decided to intervene with lightning and a hailstorm.

After an extended two-hour delay, the target was revised to a daunting 243 runs in 32 overs (DLS Method). The massive required run rate forced the Bangla Tigers to take risks, and the Pakistani bowling unit capitalized beautifully:

  • Shaheen Afridi set the aggressive tone early with the new ball (2/22).
  • Haris Rauf utilized his raw pace to dismantle the middle order (3/26).
  • Apart from a fighting 41 from Litton Das, the Bangladesh batting lineup completely crumbled, getting bundled out for a mere 114 runs.

The Verdict: All Eyes on the Decider!

Pakistan's bold move to test uncapped players and inject fresh, fearless blood into the squad paid off perfectly. Captain Shaheen Afridi's message to "play natural cricket" was executed flawlessly.

Bangladesh, on the other hand, will need to regroup quickly. Their bowling was decent in the death overs, but their top-order collapse under pace pressure is a glaring red flag.

The stage is set for an absolute blockbuster series decider on Sunday. Will this young Pakistani squad complete the comeback, or will the Bangla Tigers roar back on home soil?
